The study requires a highly experienced team member to administer an extensive battery of cognitive tests to participants in the Lothian Birth Cohort 1936 (LBC1936) study in a clinical setting. The subjects involved in the LBC1936 study are a unique group of 1,091 people, now aged in their late-80s, on whom there is information about childhood cognitive ability. They have been studied in old age in detail for health and different domains of cognitive capability (at ages 70 73, 76, 79, 82, 86).
During the period of this post, the LBC1936 subjects will undergo repeat cognitive, health and brain imaging at approx. age 88. The work will occur within part of a closely-collaborating, supportive and productive team of researchers from Psychology (cognition and ageing) and Clinical Neurosciences (brain imaging). The purpose of the job is to conduct testing of LBC1936 participants, with some additional training, data management, and administrative duties in support of the LBC1936 study.
Your skills and attributes for success:
• A first degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Health Sciences, a quantitative Social or Biological Science, or a related subject, and extensive practical experience equivalent to PhD level study.
• Extensive experience of conducting cognitive testing of older adults.
